A lot of things are west of Park Point — St. Louis Bay, Superior Bay, Superior, West Duluth, West End. Obviously “The Shoe Tree” is not in the bay, and since this is called “Where in Duluth?” you can rule out Superior.
Lisa has it pretty much figured out. This is the Shoe Tree of Goat Hill, located on the path that starts where West Fourth Street dead ends. It’s pretty much smack in the middle of this map.
It’s by the house where they actually keep goats … on Goat Hill.
Red Mountain
Established August 29, 2007, on old Fourth Street, mostly as neighborhood fun. Feel free to join in.
I have a feeling that the Murder House topic will never die on PDD.
Lisa
Love exploring this hillside and always amazed to see the remnants of foundations and old roads on the steep hillside. I am sure I walked by this area before the shoe tree was established. Time to go exploring again!

Reminds me of the bike tree on the CSS campus.
Me too, but that’s not it.
Not positive, but it might be one of the trails at Bagley Nature Area?
Nope.
Murder House?
Yikes. And no.
Reminds me of the late, great shoe tree at the U. in Minneapolis.
Shoefiti!
I might have to resort to offering clues pretty soon.
Park Point?
West of Park Point.
In a tree west of Park Point.
Wouldn’t “west of Park Point” be in the bay?

Boy Scout Landing?
Nope. Farther northeast than Boy Scout Landing.
Raleigh Street?
Even farther northeast.
Bell Brothers Funeral Chapel?
Think West End.
Atlas cement?
Atlas Cement was in Morgan Park and no longer exists. Its former location is now known as Atlas Industrial Park.
This shoe tree is northeast of Piedmont Avenue in a sub-neighborhood of the West End that was referred to in a popular PDD post seven months ago.
Wow, I think you may have stumped the bunch, Paul.
Goat Hill?!
And if so, want to know exactly where as I live just uphill of that neighborhood (but still in the West End).

Ha! It should be noted that Cory’s photo is not the Goat Hill Shoe Tree.
