I’m back in lovely Duluth for the summer, and am wondering if there are any car sharing options yet. I don’t own one since I work abroad and am only here a couple months each year. I’m getting used to having access to things through collaborative consumption models like Zipcar. Anything here yet?

I don’t even like sharing my car with my husband.
Heck, I’d be totally willing to do without a car if I could figure out a way to spend the whole summer in Duluth!
Joking aside, the bus offers pretty decent service.

It would be a piece of cake to do without a car for eleven days…….:-)
From an old Duluth joke “Eleven months of winter and eleven days of summer.”
Anything before 1990 you can jam a screwdriver into the ignition.
I would be a very dramatically happy person for zipcar. I’ve made rumblings about this in the past and been assured that this town is too small. I think that just means we wouldn’t have that many cars, but what do I know.
I was a member of Igo in Chicago. I loved it.
And anybody who thinks that the busses are good doesn’t ride the busses or lives right above the transit center.
Enterprise on Weekends (Th-Mon or Fri-Tues) can have amazing deals — as low as $10/day for local-only rentals and $15/day for unlimited miles. Plus, Brad, Harry and Jeff are among the nicest men-who-wear-ties-to-work I know. And one of their drivers, Hal, is the epitome of what it means to be a Duluthian.
…and local comics genius Cling Hillinski works there, as well.
I have a few friends in Minneapolis who are members of Hourcar and they really like it. I don’t see why it couldn’t do well in a city like Duluth, just on a smaller scale.
