Thirsty Pagan hosts its second Appetizers and Ales event with featured beer to complement Wide World of Wings wings.

Thursday, March 29
Enjoy an evening of wine and music at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College’s Taste of the Vineyards. More Fun Than Bowling, put on by a UMD student run theater group, opens at the Teatro and runs through the weekend.

Friday, March 30
The Tisdales release their third album Supercaldera at R.T.’s. Today through Sunday, gearheads and car lovers can get their fill at Motorhead Madness at the DECC.

Saturday, March 31
Featuring 3 DJs from California, the California Love Tour hits Clyde Iron. Kickoff the gardening season at third annual Spring Fling at Peace United Church.

    Also just in, the Duluth Playhouse has announced its 2012-13 season:

    Boeing Boeing – Sept. 20-30
    Singin’ in the Rain – Nov. 29 to Dec. 23
    Almost Maine – Feb. 14 to 24

    God of Carnage – June 6 to 16
    Evita – July 18 to August 4

    Is that like the Blue Ridge Rangers, or the Lone Rangers? Must be a part of baby boomer’s collective psyche. Maybe we could get the Blue RIdge Rangers to open, or just settle out for Leonard Cohen. Now that’d be a show I’d not miss.

    Not to disparage your financial status, Herzog, because I don’t know what it is, but I’ll tell you the last time Leonard Cohen played in Minnesota the tickets were $175 on the low end and $250 on the high end, so it might be a show you’d choose to miss. I know I chose to miss it.

    Zinema’s website lists “The Artist” opening this weekend! This is the film that won Best Picture this year at the Academy Awards.

    You guessed correctly Paul, my love knows boundaries. Okay, well, Mark Lanegan will do in a pinch, in fact, I prefer him over Cohen or Waits anyway. And I’m not telling you guys where I’m going to go see his show in a month for fifteen bucks! Probably won’t even sell out, tickets wise. I think he’d come here with enough goading, though a visit could propel him back into his heroin use, so maybe not.
