  1. Did anyone else catch him credit “Chris Monroe” as a writer at the end of the show? Is that Marshall Hardware’s own Chris Monroe?

  2. As a life-long Duluthian, I would like to express my appreciation to those transplants of the last 10-20 years who have made this town better.

  3. Thanks TimK! I can’t believe I’ve lived in Duluth for 17 years. Time flies when you are having fun. I loved when Keillor was saying, one isn’t “from” Duluth unless one is born here. It’s so, so true.

  4. Claire, absolutely. I laughed out loud when Garrison said that. As a 20 year resident, I can only say, “That is so, so true.”

I’m so glad I was lucky enough to move up here!

  5. Transplanted in 1995. A get-together would be great. Could someone born & bred attend to show us the exact boundaries of Hunter’s Park, West Duluth, Piedmont, Goat Hill, Gary, etc? We’d buy you a beer.

  6. I drew up a sloppy map of the West Duluth boundaries recently. (Click on it to see it better.)

Some day I might develop graphic art skills and maybe have enough free time to do this right. But probably not.

  7. This PDF is what I use to determine neighborhoods.

The problem is that it doesn’t include certain neighborhoods that it should: like Morningside, or Goat Hill; and it merges neighborhoods that should be separate. It’s the only one I’ve found, however.

  8. I moved here in 1995, and I fully expect to die here as a pain-in-the-ass old woman who runs a boarding house for foreign exchange students. (Yes, that is my retirement plan. Florida is for pussies.)
