There are a lot of great Halloween events going on all week. If you’re looking for something to do with the kids, the Glensheen Jack O’ Lantern Spooktacular starts on Thursday and continues until Sunday. On Friday, the Superior Public Library hosts Wizard of Oz Trick or Treating and there’s also a Family Halloween Carnival at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Superior. The Hartley Nature Center will put on Howl-o-ween on Saturday and The Great Lakes Aquarium will host Scarium at the Aquarium on Sunday.
For the older trick or treaters, the fun kicks off on Thursday with UMD’s Zombie Fest which will feature professors talking about all things zombie. On Friday, Black Bear Casino Resort hosts The Booo-bie Bash featuring a Van Halen cover band. There’s a lot of options on Saturday night with Nightclub of the Living Dead at Grandma’s Sports Garden, a Halloween Dance Party at the Teatro, and a Haunted Hangar on the Hill party up at the airport.

Wednesday, Oct. 26
Local DJs join the DJ duo of Dirty Talk at Grandma’s Sports Garden. Shimmy for the Shelter takes place at Clyde Iron Works with proceeds going to benefit Animal Allies.
Friday, Oct. 28
Alan Sparhawk and Gaelynn Lea will provide an original, live score to The Penalty (also on Saturday), a horror film from the 1920s, at Zinema 2. The Lily Cai Chinese Dancers will be taking over the Mitchell Auditorium
Saturday, Oct. 29
Styles for Miles will be Legacy Glassworks’ first art show and will also feature live music.
Sunday, Oct. 30
The Hip Hop & Love Tour rolls into Pizza Luce with Murs headlining.
There’s a ridiculous amount of awesome things going on this week so grab the kids, put on your costumes, and get out on the town.

$7 a person to walk through the grounds to see lit up pumpkins while carrying a flashlight, and $17 for groups/families?
We’re in a recession still, and Dull-uth with jobs for most being mostly under the living wage is not a wealthy city, AND there is NO trick or treating (meaning NO candy for the kids), so WTF?
All that money to walk through the grounds for jack’o’shite? No thanks.
Scale down rich fucks so that the ordinary can enjoy, or F.O. as we can spend our spooky monies elsewhere, for real entertainment such as, the Zoo or Corn Maze, or just buying more treats for the neighborhood kids.

ruby2sd4y, Glensheen is a money pit operated by the State. Any chance they have to bring people to the grounds for a modest fee is a good thing. Doesn’t the fee include music?
You want to argue that the state should be out of the Glensheen-owning business, I am open to it. But the $7 here is less than a movie, and at a movie, you would have to pay for concessions, too.
