IFP’s Cinema Lounge is coming to Duluth on November 5! This fun and somewhat crazy annual event will take place at 7pm at the supercool Zinema2. Our fun and friendly Cinema Lounge host will screen the best of the latest Duluth-area short films and interview the directors. If you have a short film — under 20 minutes — that you’d like to submit for consideration, please contact Max Becker at 651-644-1912 or mbecker@ifpmn.org.

One of the questions on the 2010 House of Representatives State Fair Poll (conducted by Minnesota House Public Information Services) was:

Do you believe liquor stores and automobile dealers should be permitted to open on Sundays?

And the results …
Yes ………… 6,742 | 68%
No ………….. 2,480 | 25%
Undecided …… 668 | 7%

So, were the 25 percent who said no all from Lakeside?

(This really ought to be a series. Link to post #1 here.)

Film: “Election Day”
Election Day combines 11 stories – shot simultaneously on Nov. 2, 2004, from dawn until long past midnight – into one. Factory workers, ex-felons, harried moms, Native American activists and diligent poll watchers, from South Dakota to Florida, take the process of democracy into their own hands. The result: an entertaining, inspiring and sometimes unsettling  tapestry of citizens determined on one fateful day to make their votes count.

It is probably safe to say fall is peeking its head around the corner. This is great for many reasons and one of them is the Oktoberfest beers are trickling in. Thus far I have had Hoptober from New Belgium and Oktoberfests from Summit, Schells, and Becks. To this point I have to say I like Schells the best. What are your favorites? I understand Fitger’s does a couple of very nice fall seasonal brews!
