“Most luckiest” indeed, as Sarge has thrown at least one behind-the-back pitch every game this season without success, knowing eventually he’d land one. The batter seems frozen in disbelief, not even considering taking a swing.

  1. It’s debatable whether the pitch was outside or not — you can’t really tell from the video angle. But it wasn’t short at all. In softball, if it clears the edge of the plate and isn’t too high, it’s a strike.

Of course, the batter obviously thought it was a ball. His futile argument at the end, in which he points his bat where the ball landed, is my favorite part of the video.

  2. It’s softball.. Why is the batter taken anything close anyway? HIT THE BALL! It is slow pitch…
Especially if a pitcher goes behind his back. HIT IT! Love it.
