Please join us for a fundraising and book release event for Patrick
McKinnon on Sunday, August 16, 7:00 pm at Teatro Zuccone, 222 E.
Superior St. in Duluth. Patrick, cofounder of Poetry Harbor and Poetry Motel, recently had a large non-cancerous brain tumor removed and needs help with expenses.

Readings by Jim Northrup, Al Hunter, Denise Sweet, Kyle Elden, Devin McKinnon, Bob Monahan, Ellie Schoenfeld, Deb Cooper, Cal Benson, Liz Minette, and Sheila Packa. Music by The Cherry Ferris Wheels, Andy & Vincent, Kathy McTavish, and Jim Hall.

$10 – $ 10,000 suggested donation. If cash is short and good wishes are what you’ve got, that’ll get you in the door, too. Also, Pat has a new book which will be released the night of this fundraiser – The Save My Butt Book: Poetry by Patrick McKinnon.

Clean. recovery - for life.

I’m looking for somebody to provide about 60 minutes of “background” music for an event being held at St. Scholastica on September 17th [I’ll post more on that later]. Need to find a group who can set the vibe. T-57 is busy. Randy Lee was suggested – anybody know how I can get a hold of him or similar alternative? You can email me directly: recovery at css.edu

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the release of The Who’s iconic rock opera Tommy, a group of UW-Superior faculty will be performing the LP.  The performance will be the evening of September 3rd on the UW-Superior campus.  Singers are still needed.  This is your opportunity for fame and fortune on the other side of the Bridge! If you are interested in helping out by singing a few songs, contact Joel Sipress at jsipress@charter.net.  Do not let this opportunity to give us your best Roger Daltrey impression pass you by. You may not have another opportunity to sing “Pinball Wizard” in public for another decade.
