Sorry about all the down time this week. Let’s hope that’s all behind us.

Yes, we have to wait for our new host to actually communicate with us in order to fix that. (At least, that’s my understanding of the problem. I probably shouldn’t be going around pretending to understand, though.)
FYI When I first came in, I was routed to the old site and then redirected.
Yep. The redirect is also part of the jerry-rig job until issues with the new host are sorted out.
Or, to put it in terms even I don’t understand, we have to wait for the DNS to propagate.
Taking everything into consideration, I am still going to give a “b-” for the overall experience since you all initiated the changes about a month ago. I don’t mind the ads and even enjoy some. I find the interface for posting to be better for an IT novice like myself, and I like the new banners and “look” of the site. It doesn’t exactly feel as homey as it used to for me, but I am adjusting on that front and I think that is just how life is, things change. And as for all of the down time, etc … Well, that falls squarely under the “everybody poops” line item in my set of expectations. I’m sure there will be more hiccups and that is just goign to have to be “ok”
Geez, why didn’t you just say DNS propagation.
http://65.102.104.139is your address, geekprom.com is your name. DNS servers store the information: geekprom.com = 65.102.104.139. When changes are made it takes all of the Domain Name Servers around the world a little while to update each other.
Trackback messages that I’ve recieved from PDD result in a 404.
But, you’re hosting with Tod, so all you get is a Zork joke.
