Selective Focus: Home

The theme of “home,” and the numerous ways we can represent that idea were especially meaningful to me for two principle reasons — first, for having spent the past few years without something that fit the word’s conventional definition, and second for having accomplished a longed-for arrival here, in this community.

Considering home lets us ponder our own deepest needs for solace, and security. It compels us to examine whether the dignities we forgo balance what we attain, and whether the means we use to acquire our comforts are just. I hope that next week’s theme will also lend itself to varied interpretations. And so, as Winter firmly grasps us in its icy, gaping maw, let’s see your take on “warmth.”
