I should have made it clear that this is for electric guitars. Does Rosewood do electrics?
Thanks for the tips, both of you.

Mark at Music Go Round knows his stuff.

What do you need set up?

Mildred: A guitar set up is like a tune up for your car. Usually it involves new strings, an inspection and adjustment of the neck truss rod and any necessary tweaking of the saddle and bridge.

+1 to Mark at Music-go-Round for overall value. The guy at Northwoods in Superior does excellent work, but is considerably more expensive.

Music Go Round will treat you right.

It’s also worth noting that setting up any guitar isn’t rocket surgery. There are plenty of resources on the web and anyone can do it with a decent tuner, a few basic tools and some patience.
If you plan on getting to be a good player, learn to do it yourself and you’ll understand the instrument better.

Ron at Northwoods Guitar in Sup-Town is top notch also.
Oh, I’m all for doing it ourselves. But this is a 40-year-old classic guitar that’s been in questionable storage for the past five years — we’d like to have an expert go over it, just to make sure.
Ditto Ron Koivisto at Northwoods in Superior..just had him setup 6 guitars ranging from erly 60s to mid 70s,,fretwork< bridgework, etc and all of it was PERFECT! Mark at MGR is also very good. Rosewood guy I have mixt reports.

Or, maybe you should just sell it to me, then you wouldnt have to worry about it! ;{

Oh… I’ve never had anything like that done, though I’ve played guitar a long time. I can see why it would make sense for a special instrument. I have a nice acoustic I’d like to get worked over a bit action-wise, thanks for the leads!

Ron Kovisto at Northwoods, hands down!

Nope. Hands down- Wobi (pronounced Woe-bee) at Rosewood Music in the Dewitt-Seitz bldg Canal Park. One man shop, lots of TLC given to your instrument, lots of knowledge, fairly priced. I like to support him over any larger shop.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think it’s awesome there are so many strong recommendations for several different ones.

“Waabi” at Rosewood Music in DeWitt Sites (sp) building in Canal Park.
If you can’t get through the Canal Park tourist/marathon traffic, Music-Go-Round on Central Entrance does excellent set-up work.

Classic electric guitar? Dale at http://www.nielsenguitars.com is the best guy in town for that sort of thing.
