One day you’re glamorous enough for a fancy Duluth studio portrait; one-hundred years later, no one knows who you are.
At least the photo on the left comes with half of a name: “Mrs. Mohler.” Other than that, what you see is what you get for clues. Anyone who recognizes one of these women or can provide further details will be declared winner of the internet for a day.

I don’t recognize the ladies, but I do recognize the expression on the middle one. She was not having the best day; 100 years of apathy.
Internets: The photographer of the second and third images is Carl Thiel of Duluth. He was located on Ingalls Block between 1887 and 1891. His studio moved to 105 W. Superior St. between 1891 and 1901. It is also known that he had a studio in Hibbing in 1914.
Research reveals Thiel was a close friend of Feodor von Luerzor (1851-1913), an Austrian-born landscape painter who immigrated to the United States in 1886. Thiel, a former actor, occupied a studio in the same building that Von Luezor had his painting studio. Thiel’s cabinet card work is favorably cited in Anthony’s Photographic Bulletin (1888).
